We are looking for you if:
  • You can combine your proficient data analytical skills with a proven interest in -or experience with- fighting financial economic crime within a financial institution, like ING.
  • You have extensive (at least 5 years) experience with transforming data to add value for stakeholders.
  • You are able to see things from different perspectives and are able to make original analyses, that are advanced, but also understandable for people not prone to use data analytics
  • You have a university degree with a strong data analytical component (such as computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Econometrics), or extensive working experience that prove equivalence therewith
  • You understand the business of banking and have professional knowledge of the FCC domain, the related processes, technology and developments in the field
  • You can establish plans to determine tasks, priorities, and timelines and identifying the resources needed to achieve goals.
  • You have the ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas, facts and opinions. Is able to express them fluently both in speaking and writing, supported by appropriate tools.
  • You have the ability to recover from setbacks, learn from critical feedback or failure, and persevere in the face of adversity.
  • You are fluent in the English language (reading and writing).

  • You have an awareness of what data analytics skills are upcoming within compliance in financial institutions and therefore have perseverance and can deal with setbacks, while acting as an ambassador to a data driven way of working
  • You utilize your experience with -and/or proven interest in- programming languages such as Python, database handling, visualization tools and machine learning techniques to deliver actionable information products
  • You contribute substantially to building our capabilities and therefore like to interact with departments that support us in our data journey, like Chief Data Office and Enterprise Architecture.
  • You can work across business and geographical borders
  • You have organizational sensitivity and decisiveness.
  • You are pragmatic, self-organizing, energetic, and has a critical mindset
  • You are able to convey complex messages in a simple way to bring adherence to “why” change is required to achieve effective management of FCC risks

ING’s Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), FEC Intelligence team has three focus areas: Intelligence & Analysis (I&A); Data-driven Analysis and Investigations and Global Investigations. This role is in Data Driven I&A. which currently consists of 5 experts in Amsterdam with dedicated support in Warsaw (2 FTE).

 FEC Intelligence has a responsibility to structurally improve ING’s information position of, and bolster resilience against financial-economic crime (FEC) threats throughout ING Group. The Data Driven I&A squad contributes by:

creating actionable Intelligence reports, based on internal and external data analytics, that provide insights in ING’s exposure to specific FEC related issues and therewith supporting an effective risk response

designing and performing data driven threat analysis that supports ING in understand relevant FEC threats

supporting other ING teams with data analytics to facilitate specific FEC risks related issues

Scope of duties:

70%- Produce Data Analytics, together with our Intelligence Analysts, high quality Intelligence Reports on specific FEC threats that are relevant for ING.
20%- Continuously delivering and improving ways in how we can perform innovative data analytics,that provide actionable insights for our stakeholders within Financial Crime Compliance
10%- Designing our way or working and appropriate infrastructure/ data analytics process
